Privacy policy

This page is maintained by FreelancerMetrics and explains, in plain language, what happens to information when you use this site. Last updated August 4, 2026.

The short version

The rate calculators run entirely in your browser. The income, cost, hour and fee figures you type are used to render the result on your screen and are not transmitted to us or stored on a server. If you share a result link, your inputs are encoded in that URL — so only share it with people you want to see those numbers.

Information we collect

  • Calculator inputs: processed in your browser only. Not collected.
  • Messages you send us: if you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in the message, and keep it only as long as needed to handle the request.
  • Standard technical logs: our hosting provider records requests (IP address, timestamp, page, browser user agent) to serve pages and protect against abuse.

We do not ask for account registration, we do not sell personal information, and we do not knowingly collect information from children.

Cookies and analytics

The site does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If privacy-respecting analytics are used to count page views, they collect aggregate usage information rather than profiles of individuals. Your browser settings control any cookies that are set, and blocking them does not break the calculators.

Third parties

Pages are served by our hosting provider, and share buttons link out to X, Facebook and LinkedIn. Those services apply their own privacy policies once you follow a link or use a share window. Outbound links to sources are provided for verification and are not under our control.

Retention and security

Email correspondence is retained while it is relevant to your request and then deleted. Server logs are kept for a limited period by the hosting provider for operational and security purposes. Data in transit is protected with HTTPS. No online service can promise absolute security, and we do not claim to.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to request access to, correction of, or deletion of personal information we hold, and to object to certain processing. Because we hold very little — usually nothing beyond an email thread — most requests are quick to fulfil. Email us with "Privacy request" in the subject line.

Changes and contact

If this policy changes, the updated date above changes with it. Questions or requests go to our contact page. See also the terms & conditions and disclaimer.
